The leaders of the Human Rights Council are extremely excited to welcome you to the third ASDMUN. We can’t wait to see the innovative solutions that come up in our intense debate sessions.
The Human Rights Council is undoubtedly one of the most integral to the preservation and maintenance of basic human rights around the world. Comprised of 47 states, the first priority of all members of the HRC is the promotion of the rights that define us as human beings and citizens of the world.
There are three fascinating and compelling issues that we are debating this year in the HRC: promoting religious freedom in Western Europe, creating a framework for the development of the human genome project, and addressing the humans rights violations surrounding the Rohingya refugee crisis in Myanmar.
It is crucial that, over the course of the conference, we develop and establish a variety of unique, innovative, and well-thought solutions, and that every delegate comes to the HRC with the mission of preserving some of the most important human rights violations faced today.
I am beyond elated to be able to serve as the President of this forum. I know that the delegates of the HRC at ASDMUN 2018 will be dedicated, interested, and prepared to contribute as leaders to the Human Rights Council.
