On behalf of the ASDMUN team, We would like to extend a warm welcome to each Arab Council delegate. It is an honor to welcome you to the American School of Dubai’s first MUN conference, and a greater honor to welcome you to one the world’s first MUN Arab Council Commissions. We are looking forward to experiencing dynamic debate and discussion with you all.
In past years, much of the Arab World has been plunged under unstable geopolitical waters, with ripple effects that extend to the rest of the world. This is why the debate and resolution of the issues targeted by our forum are crucial. Ultimately, the issues that ravage the Arab World must be solved. Because ASDMUN is taking place in the United Arab Emirates, the heart of the Gulf region, the Arab Council is a unique opportunity to address the challenges that literally surround us. To that end, we will be debating the issue of Syrian refugees in the Middle East, measures for the restraining of the Islamic State, and the resolution of the civil war and unrest in Yemen.
These are life and death issues for the Middle East and the world, so I urge each delegate to challenge themselves through energetic research and preparation leading up to the conference. We look forward to dynamic debate that yielding innovative solutions that we will be able to apply to the world around us.
Regards,
Arab Council Executive Team
