Delegates of the Arab Council,
We would like to offer you all a warm welcome to the Arab Council, one of the most vivacious and stimulating councils at ASDMUN. This vibrant conference will allow you to grow as passionate delegates, debaters, and intellectuals. The Arab Council, modeled after the United Nations Arab League, is especially prominent in today’s turbulent world.
In accordance with this year’s ASDMUN theme,“Innovation in a Rapidly Changing World”, we will be exploring topics such as regional terrorism, foreign intervention, and the representation of women in Middle Eastern politics. The Arab World is especially innovative and rapidly changing, due to the political turmoil of the Arab Spring, the spread of regional terrorism, and global conferences such as the Dubai Expo 2020. We must consider the present, past, and future of the Arab World, as it is currently going through a period of radical change which will continue to have widespread impact for decades to come.
We challenge delegates to prepare thoroughly for the conference and anticipate highly stimulated debate. To ensure maximum productivity, it is of the utmost importance to thoroughly research beforehand.
