The American School of Dubai Model United Nations team is happy to announce that the theme for our eighth annual conference is 'Adaptation: Changes in processes, practices and structures.' This theme continues in the ASDMUN tradition of challenging delegates to find innovative solutions to the world's most pressing issues. Our seven previous conferences centered around the themes 'Mobility,' 'Sustainability,' 'Opportunity: Supporting Solutions to Global Problems,' 'Combatting Crisis Through the Unconventional', 'Innovation in a rapidly changing world', 'Restoring Peace', and 'Finding a Home'. Participating in ASDMUN provides students with the opportunity to explore diplomacy and international relations against the backdrop of one of the world's most rapidly developing cities After two years of interruptions, we will be back to a fully in-person conference. Please visit the leadership page to find more information about the conference, and the registration page for registration forms.
From the ASDMUN Executive Team
Honorable Delegates, Respected Guests, and Esteemed MUN Directors, We invite you to participate in the eighth annual American School of Dubai Model United Nations Conference (ASDMUN). This year’s conference - centered around the theme of “Adaptation: Changes in Processes, Practices, and Structures to Help Cope With the Effects of Climate Change”- will take place from April 7th-9th, 2023.
In encouraging students from around the world to practice diplomacy, teamwork, and leadership, we are planning an in-person conference. Kindly note that the upcoming conference will NOT be free of charge. Fees will be updated in the fall. As usual, there will be eight forums available for delegate participation.
Additionally, we are excited to announce we are planning to incorporate the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 28) - a one-year collaboration with COP since it will be held in Dubai - to address climate issues specifically as one of our eight forms. This will allow us to broaden the scope of our selected theme, while also simulating another important aspect to United Nations Conventions as a unique opportunity.
Should your school wish to attend our conference, kindly complete Form I. Should you wish to attend our conference as an individual delegate, kindly complete Form 2.
We appreciate your understanding, and hope you/your school will be able to join us for the upcoming in-person ASDMUN conference with our one-time-only COP 28 Committee!
