The American School of Dubai Model United Nations team is happy to announce that the theme for our seventh annual conference is “Mobility”. This theme continues in the ASDMUN tradition of challenging delegates to find innovative solutions to the world's most pressing issues. Our six previous conferences centered around the themes 'Sustainability,' 'Opportunity: Supporting Solutions to Global Problems,' 'Combatting Crisis Through the Unconventional', 'Innovation in a rapidly changing world', 'Restoring Peace', and 'Finding a Home'. Participating in ASDMUN provides students with the opportunity to explore diplomacy and international relations against the backdrop of one of the world's most rapidly developing cities (this year, virtually). Being online will allow participants to experience truly what the theme entails. Visit the leadership page to find more information about the conference, and the registration page for registration forms and Student Officer applications.
Speech From the Secretary-General
Honorable Delegates, Respected Guests, and Esteemed MUN Directors, It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in the seventh annual American School of Dubai Model United Nations conference (ASDMUN). This year’s conference will take place from the 25th till the 27th of February 2022 and center around the theme: ‘Mobility’. ASDMUN provides opportunities for students all around the world to practice diplomacy, teamwork, and leadership. Considering the unpredictability of COVID-19 and travel restrictions to Dubai we made the decisions to hold our conference virtually. Similar to our international virtual conference last year, this conference will also be free of any costs. Following the successful legacy of ASDMUN’s previous sessions, there will be nine forums available for delegate participation: the World Trade Organization (WTO), Special Conference (SpC), General Assembly (GA), Human Rights Commission (HRC), Environmental Commission (EC), Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Security Council (SC), Historical Security Council (HSC), and Arab Council (AC). Participation in any of these forums will provide students with a valuable opportunity to find solutions to the world’s most difficult and devastating crises through creative diplomacy. Three intense days of lobbying, merging, and debating will teach students the importance of diplomacy, collaboration, and leadership. Please visit our official website, http://www.asdmun.com/ for more information about ASDMUN VII as well as previous conferences. If you plan on attending, please complete Form I in order to confirm interest. We appreciate your understanding, and sincerely hope that your school will be able to join us for the next ASDMUN conference. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding the conference. Best Wishes, Zara Masood & Maya Semaan Co-Secretary-Generals
